Getting rid of bed bugs without chemicals

Updated: Jan 11

I can’t tell you how many phone calls I’ve answered that start the same way.

The person on the other end sounds exhausted. Overwhelmed. Sometimes embarrassed. Sometimes angry. Almost always frustrated.

They’ve already tried everything.

Sprays. Powders. Foggers. Internet tips. Home remedies. Pest control visits that didn’t work. Money spent with no results. Weeks or months of disrupted sleep. And now they’re at their wit’s end.

A lot of times, they don’t even start by asking about renting a heater. They just start talking. They need someone to listen.

And I get it — because bed bugs aren’t just a pest problem. For the people dealing with them, it feels like a plague.

“I’ve Tried Everything and Nothing Works”

That’s something I hear all the time.

People call me after failing again and again to eliminate bed bugs from their home. They’re frustrated, stressed, and emotionally worn down. Some are dealing with this while raising kids. Some are caring for elderly parents. Some are working long hours and coming home just to feel uncomfortable in their own bed.

They ask a million questions because they’ve already been burned before.

And honestly? That makes sense.

Bed bugs take away your peace of mind. They take away sleep. They make you question everything — every itch, every shadow, every piece of furniture. People stop inviting guests over. Some won’t even sit on their own couch.

By the time they call me, they’re not just looking for equipment. They’re looking for hope.

The Part That Breaks My Heart

One of the hardest parts of these conversations is hearing how many people simply can’t afford the big exterminator companies.

I hear quotes like:

  • “They want $1.50 a square foot.”

  • “They quoted me $2 a square foot for the whole house.”

  • “They want thousands of dollars and I only need two bedrooms treated.”

For a lot of families, that’s just not realistic.

Especially when the infestation is limited to one, two, maybe three bedrooms — not the entire home.

So people delay treatment. Or they try cheaper methods that don’t work. Or they live with it longer than they should because they feel trapped.

That’s not okay with me.

This Is the Moment I Tell Them the Truth

At some point in almost every call, I say something that usually stops people in their tracks:

“You’re not failing. You just haven’t been given the right tool yet.”

And then I tell them this:

Heat is the answer.

Not sprays.

Not powders.

Not bombs.

Not hope and prayers.

This is how bed bugs die.

Why I Believe in Heat 100%

I didn’t start this business just to rent equipment. I started it because I saw how many people were suffering — and how few real options they were being given.

Heat is not a gimmick. It’s not experimental. It’s not guesswork.

It’s physics.

When temperatures reach lethal levels, bed bugs die. Adults. Nymphs. Eggs. All of them.

They don’t adapt.

They don’t resist it.

They don’t come back because they “built immunity.”

This is the knockout blow.

And when people finally understand that, you can almost hear the relief in their voice.

“So You’re Saying This Actually Works?”

Yes. That’s exactly what I’m saying.

And more importantly, it works when done correctly.

A lot of people have been told bed bugs are nearly impossible to eliminate. That they’ll always come back. That only professionals can handle them.

But the truth is, professionals use heat for a reason.

The difference is — when you rent a heater, you’re not paying for a logo, a truck, or overhead. You’re paying for the same principle that exterminators rely on.

And for many people, that makes the solution finally accessible.

You’re Not Alone — and You’re Not Stupid

I make sure people know this during our conversation.

Bed bugs don’t mean your house is dirty.

They don’t mean you failed.

They don’t mean you’re careless.

They mean you’re human.

People pick them up from hotels. From guests. From used furniture. From shared spaces. From places they’d never expect.

And once they’re in, they’re relentless — unless you use the right solution.

This Is Why I Always Start With a Conversation

I don’t rush people.

I don’t push equipment.

I don’t assume every situation is the same.

I want to understand:

  • Where the problem is

  • How long it’s been happening

  • What they’ve already tried

  • What they’re worried about

  • What they can realistically afford

Sometimes that assessment happens over the phone. Sometimes it happens in person. Either way, the goal is the same — to help them move forward, not overwhelm them further.

The Emotional Side Matters

People don’t talk about this enough, but bed bugs mess with your head.

I’ve talked to people who are ashamed.

People who feel hopeless.

People who feel defeated.

People who are just tired — mentally and physically.

This isn’t just about killing bugs.

It’s about restoring peace.

It’s about letting people sleep again.

It’s about helping families feel safe in their own homes.

That’s why I take these calls seriously.

Why I Started This Business

I started this business because I wanted to help people who felt stuck.

People who needed a real solution but didn’t have $3,000 sitting around.

People who had tried and failed and were ready to give up.

People who just needed someone to say, “There is a way through this.”

And I believe, without hesitation, that heat is that way.

I believe in this solution 100%.

I’ve seen the relief.

I’ve heard the follow-up calls.

I’ve watched people go from panic to confidence.

If You’re Reading This and Feeling Overwhelmed

Let me say this clearly:

You’ve found the solution.

You don’t have to keep guessing.

You don’t have to keep spraying.

You don’t have to keep losing sleep.

You can call me.

We can talk.

We can assess your situation.

And we can figure out the right path forward — calmly, clearly, and honestly.

This doesn’t have to control your life anymore.

Heat is how bed bugs die.

And help is closer than you think. Call me and we’ll chat. 469-834-3808, we serve the DFW area, but I can still answer questions if you don’t live in the area.
